Busselton Writing Workshop

In this writing workshop, work with Sasha Wasley to understand and improve pacing and tension in fiction across all genres. In this two-hour workshop, you’ll explore: 

  • What is pacing and how to manipulate it 
  • Building narrative tension  
  • Raising the stakes 

You can expect to walk away with the confidence to polish your work and implement specific strategies to improve the narrative tension in your writing.

If you want inside information on what publishing professionals like and don’t like when being pitched, this workshop is for you.

Wanneroo Writing Course (4-part series)

Come along to four consecutive Saturdays (Saturday 3, 10, 17 and 24 October 2026, 1pm to 3pm). Includes:

  1. Research for writing: Learn the golden rules of research for fiction writing, whether contemporary or historical. Discover where to find information outside your area of expertise and find out everything you need to know about approaching subject matter experts for help.
  2. Character masterclass: Master the character’s journey. In this workshop, you’ll explore character arc, motivation and resolution. Develop new skills to write memorable, fully formed characters that step straight off the page and into the reader’s soul.
  3. Structuring your Novel: Investigate the shape of plot and master your story’s structure. You will explore the processes of outlining and structural editing to refine your story and give your work the greatest impact.
  4. Weaving a story: Let’s focus on building your story creatively through elements of setting, voice and imagery. In this workshop, you’ll try some new and intriguing techniques for weaving imagination and style into your writing.
